Car is well sorted as a Great Driver,Auto-Crosser or a open road race competitor .  The 66 convertible was retired to a daily driver. The 66 GTC was checked and registered for entry to the “Gambler Run” sponsored by “Roger Ward” “ Classic Auto Racing Society” . This car was entered in touring 110 Mph class on highway 225 in Nevada finishing six-ed in the 110 average speed. Car Drove flawless averaging 91.9 Seconds per mile and a top speed is 137 Mph.  Great Touring Car that would accept a high horsepower motor with earth shaking results the sub-frame is ready for real torque. Car is dependable cruising at 75-80 mph at 20 mpg top speed 137 mph. Car drives straight , brakes straight, shifts smooth. Very low maintenance vehicle.

Super Sub-Frame

 

This car is so tight and all steel was replaced to strengthen the original uni-body flex. From rear spring shackles to front strut bars . Spring towers have been welded, floors are integrated to all original convertible factory still bolted stock supports. I built this car for super high horsepower, knowing any body flex would hinder cornering. The floors were completed at a time I had total access to a welding shop. This welder was Air Force certified welder, paying complete attention to the entire frame. Then the paint shop replaced rockers, door skins, quarter panels, tail light fascia. No painted over rust like very other ruststang’s you will find. There are less than 1000 miles on on the motor. Rings, bearings,harden valves. You say hard miles, I say not a trailer queen put together sell. This car was built to run hard.
